130 Pounds of WHAT?

I can't believe a month has gone by already! Thank you all for following along with me on this journey. It's become a lot more than I anticipated! I never expected to learn as much as I have this past month. What started out as a vlog about losing weight became a quest for information about why I can't escape the clutches of unhealthy food. Many moons ago, I took a Nutrition Course in college from Annmarie Colbin, a brilliant woman who owns a culinary school in Manhattan and has published multiple bo... read more »

Don't Be Dopey

I can't believe this, but THIS post.... this one right here.... THIS'UN HITHER.... is my 100th post.Do you know what that means? That means that there were 100 times that I felt the need to talk to strangers. Yup. Because if I know you, you've probably heard a lot of what I've babbled or ranted on and on about. You probably got it straight from the horse's mouth at one time or another. I'll have you know that I didn't realize this little 100th Post factoid until after I did my little video, so there will ... read more »

The Final Betrayal By My Arch Nemesis

Sounds like a juicy headline, doesn't it? There's no interpersonal drama going on, so if you're looking for seedy gossip, I apologize. But I am angry. And I'm annoyed. And just plain pissed. 😠Day 14 isn't going as planned, but I guess that is to be expected. And to be honest, I never found it to be much fun to follow people who have their "eternal bliss" on display at all times. Rest assured, there's no bliss here today! And I hope you weren't terribly distracted by my half missing makeup or the rando... read more »

Weightloss and running

In the last week, Ive seen loads of adverts on Facebook about losing weight through running. Whilst I believe that starting to run can help to kickstart weight loss for many people, its not usually a long-term solution for weight loss if it were then Id be wasting away by now! However, that doesnt mean [] read more »

My Slimming World journey so far.

On the evening of 1st of July 2015, I found myself sitting in a full school canteen, not knowing anyone, about to join Slimming World. For a very long time I had complained about my weight, and how I wanted to slim down. I tried calorie counting, cutting out crisps sweets, exercise and what felt like everything else. A new group had opened nearby and after putting it off for a few months, I dragged myself along. I was greeted with lots of friendly, smiley faces who showed me who I needed to speak to in ... read more »

The Fastest Way To Lose Weight In 3 Weeks

Losing weight in a short space of time has always been thought of as a near impossible task. For years, doctors and dietitians have told the public that it takes months and sometimes even years of hard work to see any progress with weight loss, or to sculpt the perfect body. But that is simply ... Continue reading The Fastest Way To Lose Weight In 3 Weeks read more »

AMBCS PCOS CFS - Odd One Out? The Health Update

Samhain even Practises PilatesNow I don't dare to even look how long it has been since I posted a health update so I'm not even going to check. A lot has been going on, too much has been going on in truth. Work has been busy, with the odd trip into Manchester for college I've been feeling more exhausted than usual. Now this isn't why ended up at the doctors, I was in for a simple medication review, but fortunately for me I have a fantastic doctor.I've been taking painkillers for years now, since before t... read more »

Almost Back in Shape

Swimsuit: Sassa || Sunnies: SPRINTO || Coverup: Gift So there you go! I started working out and dieting when Leon turned 10 months. 6 months after my decision, I am now weighing 120lbs from 10lbs. Still a bit far from my 2013 body (108 lbs) but I'm currently struggling to lose more weight. If you have noticed, my tummy, legs and thighs are still heavy while my arms and face are shrinking. Its probably the carbs and the sweets that I still cannot let go. I hope you liked my post! :) Much Love, TBD read more »

Health & Fitness Update and Why I Hate BMI

I've decided to be less methodical with my postings and focus more on my emotions along with my triumphs. It's been a funny week or two, my emotions have been controlling me a little more than I'd like when it comes to what I eat which has led me to want to be more open. I have been busy this summer but I've also been somewhat heartbroken. I was dating someone and we split at the end of July, we hadn't been dating long but it was intense and I had strong feelings for him but circumstances got in the way a... read more »

Health & Fitness Update (Playing Catch-up Part 2)

Another week and I'm playing catch-up. As you can tell my blog posts are still few and far between. This is mainly because I'm so active at the moment, I haven't been on any fabulous holidays, the summer holidays do not mean I have time off with the kids (because I haven't got any), yet I find myself distracted and busy, but in a good way.My life is either work or the gym with walking to and from in-between. Now I usually go to the gym every other day and with swimming in-between or after, I haven't done... read more »

Health & Fitness Update (Playing Catch-up)

Well it has been quite some time since I posted a health and fitness update. There has been a lot of upheaval in my life but it is all okay now. Everything is once again more positive. I'm happy to say that even though I haven't been updating my blog I have been super busy and super active.I'll start with what hasn't changed much, the food. I still have a standard pattern, I eat a little more as I'm doing more activity but in general I'm happy. I eat everything I like in moderation although I can be a li... read more »

It's in the Water

All summer I have been trying to reverse the weight gain from my winter fun of unlimited chocolate, soda and chip snacking. Even drinking diet Pepsi added weight, so I decided why drink diet if I'm still going to gain weight? So back to my regular Pepsi I went. Now toward the end of the summer I have found an answer or should I say changes I am happy to make in the name of health and weight loss. Would you believe it is in the water? The thought of adding cucumber to my water was appalling. I must admit a... read more »

Health & Fitness Update 06/07/2015 to 12/07/2015

Another week, another fitness update. I feel like I'm going from strength to strength. I'm not even focusing on food that much, I'm making wise choices, sticking to 80 good, 20 not so good, roughly. Steps wise, I'm not thinking as much about it but I'm doing much better with that, even closer to averaging 10,000 a day thanks to being more active at the weekend. Now Ever since joining my local leisure centre I've pretty much been living there. I tend to swim 5-6 times a week and gym 3-4 times (I usually... read more »

Health & Fitness Update 29/06/2015 to 05/07/2015

I have had a hectic week so I'm keeping this post brief, very brief.Nothing exciting food wise, now James is out of the house I'm struggling to get a proper meal down me in the evening, mainly as when I return my mum is usually just destroying the kitchen meaning it isn't free until 9 which is way too late so I'm concentrating on eating proper meals for breakfast and lunch.Step wise, well I don't actually know, I need to check my Fitbit report as I've been concentrating on exercise more than anything so ... read more »

Health & Fitness Update 22/06/2015 to 28/06/2015

This week started poorly but has ended in a high. I really felt crappy this week, I cant even remember why I felt so bad because there has been a complete upturn in attitude and ability! As I felt so crappy I didn't really push myself but on Thursday some switched and I made an incredibly exciting decision. My food has been okay, yogurt, blueberries and granola for breakfast most days along with the odd cooked breakfast at work, as I don't have meat it isn't too bad, beans, mushrooms, potatoes and eggs ar... read more »

Sunday Weigh-In: Third of the New Year!

Sticking with the easy post titles! Not much has changed this week, I'm coasting along nicely and have managed to stick to a routine, working out Tuesday and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm also making the effort to reach 10,000 steps each day, once I've managed to reach that amount for a few weeks running, I'll try and up my game. Homemade Vegan Quest Bars - A Recipe!

I love Quest bars. But guess what I don't love? $2.99 per bar. Really? Are you sure? Is that whey powder or gold powder in there? 'Cause I'm cool with just the whey, thanks. But Quest bars are sweet, healthy, chewy, and great at room temperature, frozen, or (my personal favorite) baked. Diary of the Guinea Pigs: The Final Days

<< Day Twelve So the last day was actually this past Sunday, which ended at noon. The Saturday excessive eating was brutal. Like, disgusting. Mostly dinner was the worst. All-in-all the calorie count was over 3800. This for a body with a RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) of just over 2400 calories. So, the excess alone was just a little less than the amount of calories we eat in a day normally. It still is unclear why they end the study that way. It seems cruel. Not only that, but it caused a 3 pound wight g... read more »

Diary of the Guinea Pigs: Day Twelve

<< Day Six It's the second to last full day of this session of the study, which means, like last weekend, it's 6 hours (three sets of 2 hours) of 15 minute breath captures. The nice thing is that it means a day off from classes, and from work, translating into an extra day to study, and start researching for the six papers due by December 2nd.Tomorrow is going to be a strange day because it's the "overfeed day", word is that the amount of calories given the first three days to stabilize the system is jus... read more »

Diary of the Guinea Pigs: Day Nine

<< Day Six The wireless signal in this building is literallydriving me nuts. And turning the smartphone into a hotspot is often pointless since there's so much steel and concrete surround this building that the signal is weak in most spots. Does Garcinia Cambogia work?

I recently received 180 capsules of the increasingly popular Garcinia Combogia pills to review, which are supposed to help with weight loss. Prior to this opportunity, I had seen them in various stores and in places like Wal Mart, in the floor stands, with all kinds of crazy signage. I thought, "probably a gimmick" and carried on, as I typically do with these types of products. When I had the option of trying it for review, however, I jumped at the chance. I'm still carrying a bit of pregnancy weight and... read more »
