Finding Your Way Through the Darkness

When you are the end of your rope, tie a know and hold on. When you think you are at the end of your journey, reach out your hand and someone will meet you there. Emily Stroia, Into the Light  I know the darkness like an old friend who comes to haunt me when Continue reading Finding Your Way Through theDarkness read more »

Stephen King's It

I went to see the movie 'It' yesterday at Odeon in Norwich, which, me being me, I was extremely over excited about. 🙄Im a big fan of King and all his books and 'It' is a particular favourite of mine. But let's be honest for a second, the live action versions of his material are hit and miss at best. Mostly miss. (Looking at you Sony for Dark Tower 😑).However, I was a fan of the original It tv movie starring Tim Curry, so I was looking forward this new 2017 remake with equal parts of optimism and dread.... read more »

My First Juried Art Fair

Photo By Me, Cheryl Larkin of Painting Done By Me The two paintings shown in this post have been accepted into the Sedona Art Festival 2017. I am so excited. This was the first juried process I have applied to and the first art festival I have tried to get my paintings into. I submitted three paintings to the jury and they chose two of the three to be in the festival. The first painting was done with Bumblebee Jasper. Continue reading read more »

Moving Right Along

Photo by Me, Cheryl Larkin of My Art Work Time sure is flying by. I am now a few months into my move to Cottonwood and I am settling in very well. I have even gotten back into the swing of painting and doing all the things necessary to sell my art. I am not fond of the marketing and photographing and listing but they are important parts of the bigger picture, which is to eventually support myself with my Continue reading read more »

Greetings everyone! ♥ So often we turn to God in our times of need.In our desperation we go to Him to pleadFor His Help, His Guidance, to fix what has been broken,But when all is well, so fewer words to Him are then spoken.So this makes me wonder how often He must yearnFor some words of gratitude without requesting a return.Few of us humans like the feeling when we're being used.If only called upon to serve a purpose, we are not amused.When we deal with others, we should the Golden Rule apply,Treating ... read more »

Greetings everyone! ♥ I've been working on my blogs giving them a new look, feel, etc., a make-over. I decided a new look wouldn't be complete without a new background too. So, this is my new background image, except for this image is in the PNG and much better format than the JPG version displayed as my background.♥"Romp At Sunset" Full Size PNG: read more »

Greetings everyone! ♥ For the better part of about the last two weeks I've been working on my blogs, giving them make-overs of sorts. It would be much better and less frustrating if the page/text editor actually co-operated. Numerous times the editor wouldn't work as it should and so, I had to try and figure things out through HTML and I am so not good with this! Anyhow, I still have more to do, especially with Creative Corner, but I'm pausing to post for a change. This poem can be sung, if one knows the... read more »

Greetings everyone, from Artsieladie! ♥Since this poem only covers the issue of being treated as an outcast, I wanted to expand further about it and similar situations and try to offer some sort of useful/helpful information or guidelines to counteract when others treat us badly. Louis Caron (1848-1917) founded an architectural dynasty that contributed more than 150 residences and ecclesiastical buildings to the Bois-Francs region of Qubec, designed primarily in the Neo-Gothic style. Gothic Revival architecture in Canada was imported from Britain and endured until the 1930s. Victorian eclecticism, with its mansard roofs and fancy embellishments, also influenced the appearance of many towns, and can still be seen today. [...] read more »

Honoring Myself

Photo By Me, Cheryl Larkin One of the things I have been working on in the last few months is truly honoring myself, and respecting my talent and my time. I need to believe that I do have something special to offer with my art, and I am happy to say that I am finally doing it. I am finally believing in my worth. I have struggled with this for various reasons. Painting is such a wonderful, spiritual experience for Continue reading read more »

the candle breaks, tears. (sunday photo fiction).

Wear your best Victorian dress. Latch the white pearls your great Grandmother wrapped [in an old, white cloth] for you since your Mother has become too old to wear it. Hold your thick, brown hair with the wood crafted pin your beloved Father handed—he would have loved the view of his daughter’s beauty. If the Continue reading "the candle breaks, tears. some perfect disappearance;

You became dry when you returned. Your eyes searched the white walls for the drawings of our significance, but your found remorse instead. You would smoke when you could not eat, drink vodka when you could not think, and sing hollow songs when you could not breathe. the voyage without returns; (flash fiction for ...

In our modern city where the people could not travel any longer, we grew together. As our 18th birthday gift, the President handed our Teleportation Bottle—we could only use it once. Whisper the country, not names, and we would be there without returns. I saw two figures in the night as I approached your house.

the wanderer lost her wonders;

I met a woman who loved stardust, but in the clouds—evaporating and pure smokes. She touched my lips, but never kissed it. She looked at me without seeing me. She locked her fingers on to mine, but it was lifeless. She smiled at me, but it was empty. In the lifetime I knew her, her [] read more »

the morning curtains;

You ran your tongue over the space between my breasts. I held on to your hair as you licked the lush peaks of my body. My knees buckled and I rounded my legs around your hips. Your arousal dipped into my slick wet lips below. My teeth trembled as I repressed a gratifying shout. All [] read more »

somewhere we could still meet;

We drove to the most conscious-deprived town with our windows down and two lit-up cigarettes. We spoke silence as we let the speakers sang the song that could have been the words we had been looking for. There were occasional glances, but nothing more than a fierce stare. I was hoping for some locked fingers, [] read more »

the last time we happened;

We had not yet converse into one of our routines. The last time happened years ago; you might, as well, have forgotten about it. The hums of the tall dark trees or the floating fish on the surface of the red sea. The white tears of the rain or the broken voices of the waterfalls. [] read more »

UCI Cinemas in Bicocca Offers O.V Films!

I’m so excited for this weekend! I’ll be watching the new Captain America film because I want to know why it’s called Civil War (no spoilers, please; rather, is the reason behind the title even included in the film?) I’ve never been this anxious for just watching a film, but trust me, this is really [] read more »

it was a young experience.

It was a quiet dining room. We were miles apart, seating on the chairs in the two ends of the round table. There was an ignored electric fusion over our heads, but we kept slicing the broccoli as if it could repress the rage of the night. “You didn’t have to show up tonight at [] read more »

the last travel; wander, wander. (flash fiction...

I still wonder how you can convince me to travel with a wanderer like you; are you not exhausted yet? Perhaps not. “The Golden Gate Bridge will be my last stop for now,” a snicker from your lips; what a weak voice you have now. “I’ll buy us tickets, then.” “No. Paint the bridge on [] read more »

this morning, the sun burned the sky.

My chest rose and fell as I gasped for air. I ran from the metro’s stairs down to the train’s cab—almost bending the turnstile pole. “I’ll take this one, Miranda.” “How did you know my name?” “Try to remove the tag from your dirty clothes.” I didn’t like her tone. I sat on the velvet skin chair before the empty space of the Victorian-styled event. her ashes felt rough on my fingers;

In the thick, dark green leaves of the forest, I traveled to search her. The dead leaves crackled as my boots pushed their withering veins under the land. This semester has been nothing, but a fun-filled rollercoaster with rust rails and bumps along the ride. I won’t say I didn’t lock my seatbelt, but I might have forgotten it has one. we had too much speed; (sunday photo fiction).

It was different tonight. Two feet spaces with two pairs of hands on two laps—screaming distance. A three-legged steel stood alone a few fingers away from us with its eye gazing at the speed of the cars. After miles of seconds, it clicked. You took out a stick and lit it up. some voices kill;
